eating like a Wilkins

We went to the doctor yesterday and Peyton is almost back up to his birth weight. He weighs 6 lb 8 oz....he gained 14 oz in one week! The boy can eat! Last night we went to watch Chris practice softball and he was so content. I think he was in his element and just felt comfortable. I think he is starting to smile or maybe his muscle is just twitching, but I will call it a smile.

better everyday

Things do get better everyday....i am now feeling more comfortable in taking care of another being. The thought blows my mind, but God has really given me peace and allowed me to be comforted in times of failure. He is sweeter than ever and we love him more and more everday. We are realizing different characteristics and features the more we stare at him. He has his daddy's legs, his mommy's lips and chin.....but he just looks like Peyton. He is sleeping through his feeding times at night. This is nice because it allows me to get some sleep. We are still working through the feedings and hope that he will gain weight by his next doctors visit Thursday. He was down a little and so we are trying a different feeding plan.
This is a short little update but I just wanted to say a little something while I had time.

Adjusting

he is here...peyton tucker wilkins was 6 lbs 10 1/2 oz and 20 in long. he has dark hair and long skinny legs like his daddy. he loves to cuddle and is learning to eat. it has been almost 1 week since he was born and we love him even more now than the first time we set eyes on him. he is just so precious. we have been up and down with emotions, which is expected with getting little sleep.
this little boy is teaching us more than he will ever know. God truly has blessed us with a gift and has used it to teach us our self centered ways. everyone warns you that life changes when you have a baby but they don't necessarily tell you how, but i guess you cant really explain the emotions you go through. here is this little creature that can't function without you and you have to set all of your self aside and wait on him hand and foot, trying to figure out what it is that he actually wants. i am thankful for such a loving husband that encourages, serves and loves me through the tears and emotions. chris has been so wonderful with helping me get through this joyous yet rough adventure. he makes an amazing daddy and for that i have grown to love him even more in ways i didn't think possible because i already love him so much.
thank you all for your continued prayers as we run the race before us raising this little boy in the ways of the Lord. you all mean so much to us and we cant wait for peyton to meet you.

24 hours!

Well, we have 24 hours before our little one joins us in this world. We are so excited that friends and family will be there to celebrate Peyton's birth with us. Nine long months that have in ways actually flown by are up and our precious gift is perfect and ready, ready to say hello to a world that is going to change in an instant, a world that forever functioned without him and now will cherish him and love him and discipline him and teach him. Oh gosh, I can't wait!
I can't wait to set eyes on my boy for the first time and hold him and never let him go!

Less than a Week!

Peyton will be here in 6 days! I can't beleive it! We are so excited about having our precious gift here and being able to hold him and love on him. He is a stubborn little boy just like his daddy and decided he wanted to be feet first so that is why we know we have to wait only a few more days.
His room is ready and full of UGA pride so he has no choice but love the dawgs! With gators on one side and tech on the other we have to get him at first breath!
