full of smiles!

Peyton is now getting more personality and it is so fun to watch. He gets giddy when we talk to him and when he looks at pictures in books. He smiled for the first time last week and of course it was at Chris. He walked into the room and Peyton just started moving his arms and legs and Chris said his name and he just showed us all of his gums. It was the sweetest thing ever. Since then he has smiled at me so I am ok that the first one wasn't at me. I love to hear him talk and 'respond' to us when we tell him how much we love him. He is eating so much and so of course that adds weight. He has grown so much and is starting to get thick thighs. I can't believe how much his face has filled out and now his newborn size clothes are fitting him.
I go back to work in a week and a half and I am so sad at the thought of not getting to see him all day anymore. He will be in a daycare just a few buildings down so I can go and visit him throughout the day. It really won't be that bad, but I just dread that first day of separation.

4 weeks

We have survived our first month! Our little monkey now weighs 7lbs 11 oz and he is filling out like a little man. He still doesn't sleep much but we are figuring out what food is best and even treating him for reflux in hopes that his tummy will no longer hurt him.
We have learned that he loves being outside. I am sure this is letting us know what to expect when he is old enough to hold a ball. He enjoys walks in the evening, which is good for mommy because she can get out of the house and get some fresh air. He also loves car rides which we have gone on a few times in the middle of the night.
He is still the most wonderful thing in the world and we love him more and more every day. The hard loud crying times are worth it when you can see him sleeping and it is the sweetest sight ever.
