Summatime is Over!

I can't believe it is gone....vacation, fun in the sun, more time with Chris at home!
Peyton is 16 months old today! He is no longer a little baby, he is a little boy! He does big kid things like animal sounds, points to facial features, trys to repeat every word you say, LOVES the words truck and light, runs non-stop, always wants to be outside and loves, loves, loves anything having to do with a ball!
Chris took him to McDonald's last night and then to Academy Sports = guys night. Well, he bought a Georgia Bulldogs hat. Chris pointed to the 'G' and asked Peyton what it was. He said "GEORGIA"! Chris was so amazed that he recorded it on this phone so I would believe him. Peyton eats, breaths and sleeps (literally sleeps) Georgia. I guess we are raising him right!
One of my favorite things he does right now is 'showing you his muscles'. If you ask him to do this he clenches his fist and gets his body tight as if he was flexing his muscles. It is the cutest thing. He knows it is funny, so he does it over and over and cackles every time.
I am amazed how our little boy can be so smart. He remembers things so well and communicates better than I thought was possible at this age. He talks ALL the time and wants to read any book in sight. He will sit still for extended periods of time either 'reading' to himself or sitting in your lap while you read the same book over and over and over and points to anything that closely resembles a dog and yells DOG DOG!
Football Friday nights are in full swing and Peyton and his Papa were spotted in the newspaper at Greenbrier's first game. We are excited to be in a new school! The sports atmosphere is energetic and fun! Peyton loves to watch all the movement and commotion Friday nights, with the players running up and down the field, all the crazy students running around with painted bodies and the loud band that plays throughout the game.
We have started discipline and boy is it hard. He is very stubborn and wants his way ALL the time and if he doesn't get it he will let you know how upset it makes him. We have read a book, Shepherding a Child's Heart, and have learned the importance of the discipline. You show your child love by pointing out sin in his life and turning him in the right direction. I could go on and on about how great this book is. I also just started a book that goes along with the first book titled Don't Make Me Count to Three.
This by far is the most fun stage. He gives kisses and hugs and makes us laugh with his silly faces and forever running mouth.

He may be getting "big" but he'll always be your precious little boy. I have enjoyed watching him grow over the past year and there isn't a day that goes by where his smile doesn't melt my heart. Thank you for sharing the joy of your son with us. I have heard great things about both book you mentioned and need to read them both! I enjoy our lunch last week and look forward to the next surprise outing! Thanks for the update!!!
