new tricks

Peyton is now in the third week of his third month and he's got tricks. He can roll over on his belly, but not back to his back. He will copy you if you stick your tongue out at him and he will mock you when you blow a raspberry (I guess that's what it is called). We think he weighs almost 15 lbs and we don't go back to the doctor for a couple of weeks so we aren't sure. Peyton loves to smile and laugh at his reflection in the mirror. He is so fun! He likes to watch TV, I guess because it is always changing and flashing. He has a short attention span like his mommy, he can't play with one thing for a long time.
I have a ton of pics to post, but I haven't figured out how to do an album yet, so I won't fill up the page with a hundred pictures. He has changed so much though, he is definitely all boy! This sweet little girl, probably 8 yrs old, at the sitter tells me every time I see her that I have a cute baby. We are still learning to juggle life and priorities, but God is carving us into Himself and helping us raise our youngin up in faith. It is crazy how your sin is revealed so much more in a child that is dependant on you.

beefcake!!

Yes, that is Peyton's new nickname. We went to the doctor last week and the little boy now weighs 11 lbs 4 oz. He gained almost 4 lbs in 3 weeks! He is so cute, little rolls everywhere possible. His belly is big, he has chunky thighs. I just want to eat him up all the time! He is doing very well as you can see, gainging weight and he now is eating rice cereal with his formula so I am interested to see how much he gains within a week because we go back to the doctor this Friday for his 2 month shots.
Peyton is making new friends at daycare. He has been there for a week and a half. That has been a very hard adjustment and we aren't too sure he is going to stay there. I miss seeing him all day everyday, but I take my lunch break and go and see him to get my little fix.
We went to Valdosta this past weekend so he could meet his little cousins, Hannah and Manny. They had so much fun togehter. Hannah is so sweet and just kissed on Peyton and watched him to make sure he was doing ok. Manny and Peyton just woke each other up every once in a while, they just wanted to say hey and make sure the other was still there...haha. Peyton is so much fatter than Manny that he looks months older and Manny is long and thin, but really Manny is almost 3 weeks older. I can't wait until they can run around together and play in the yard and just have a ball.
Peyton is such a happy baby. He smiles and laughs and talks all the time, sometimes to himself. He loves to stare at himself in a toy mirror and just smiles- I think he knows he is cute. My favorite is to wake him up in the morning because he greets me with a huge smile. When he smiles it just makes your tiredness and long stressful day just fade away. There is something about that toothless gum smile that just melts your heart and makes you just love him so much. He loves to sit up in his bumbo seat also. I am just so amazed at how strong he is getting and how quick he is learning. He has figured out how to hit at his mobile toy and a few times he has kicked a ball that hangs at his feet. He loves to stand up also, we obviously have to hold him up but his legs are just so strong.

full of smiles!

Peyton is now getting more personality and it is so fun to watch. He gets giddy when we talk to him and when he looks at pictures in books. He smiled for the first time last week and of course it was at Chris. He walked into the room and Peyton just started moving his arms and legs and Chris said his name and he just showed us all of his gums. It was the sweetest thing ever. Since then he has smiled at me so I am ok that the first one wasn't at me. I love to hear him talk and 'respond' to us when we tell him how much we love him. He is eating so much and so of course that adds weight. He has grown so much and is starting to get thick thighs. I can't believe how much his face has filled out and now his newborn size clothes are fitting him.
I go back to work in a week and a half and I am so sad at the thought of not getting to see him all day anymore. He will be in a daycare just a few buildings down so I can go and visit him throughout the day. It really won't be that bad, but I just dread that first day of separation.
